GEODI is a web application. Users access GEODI via a web browser such as Chrome, Firefox, or Edge. GEODI Server runs on your servers, and data remains on your servers.

This page lists the basic requirements for installation.

| --- | --- |
| > ℹ️ ## Server Requirements (Suggested)
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ - **CPU:**16+ Cores,
> ℹ️ - **Memory: **32Gb+
> ℹ️ - **Disk:** 500GB+
> ℹ️ - **OS: **Windows 8 and above
> ℹ️ - **.NET Framework**: 4.0+
> ℹ️ - Physical/virtual or cloud server (Azure, Amazon, or others).
> ℹ️ - (For extensive OCR or high traffic, use better servers)
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ 🔐 **Connection Requirements**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ If you will use the Discovery (GDE) or Classification agent → an SSL certificate is required.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ If you will use OWA Classification → a public (internet-accessible) address is required.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ For browser access to GEODI → the default port **3323** (or another port you specify) must be open.
> ℹ️ # **Authorized Users**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ For installation and usage, the following authorized users are required:
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ - A user with permission to install Windows services
> ℹ️ - An authorized user who can install the Discovery (GDE) or Classification agent
> ℹ️ - If you will only perform **Discovery** → a user with **ReadOnly** access
> ℹ️ - If you will perform **Deletion, Quarantine, or Data Remediation** actions → a user with **Write** access
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ 📘 For detailed access and permission information:

> ℹ️
> ℹ️ Internet access is not required to install or run GEODI. However, allowing limited access to the following address provides several advantages:
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ ### DECE-STORE, Licensing, Support Q
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ `https://service.decesoftware.com` and its subdomains
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ - Automatic updates from DECE-STORE
> ℹ️ - Access to Support Q, our AI-powered support assistant
> ℹ️ - Automatic license updates
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ **Note:** Offline installation and operation are supported. However, software updates and module installations must be performed manually, and Support Q will not be available.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ ### Technical Support and Ticket Operations
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ To create support requests, track existing tickets, and communicate with the support team, access to the following addresses is recommended:
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ - support.decesoftware.com
> ℹ️ - `https://decesupport.atlassian.net`
> ℹ️ - `https://id.atlassian.com`
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ These connections help ensure that support processes are managed quickly and transparently.
> ℹ️ # Storage
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ GEODI requires disk space for indexing and additional operations.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ The required space is approximately **10–20%** of your total data volume.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ Using an **SSD drive** significantly improves performance. |

# Discovery and Classification Agents

| | |
| --- | --- |
| > ℹ️ ## GEODI Desktop Explorer (GDE) - EndPoint/FileServer crwaler agent
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ 1️⃣ **GDE** can run on **Windows**, **Pardus**, **Linux**, and **Mac** computers.
> ℹ️ It can operate either as a **GEODI login user** or as a **Windows service**.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ 2️⃣ The agents require **access to the GEODI Server** to function correctly.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ 3️⃣ To ensure server communication, the **port 1982** (or a custom-defined port) must be **open on the PC**.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ 4️⃣ Network tools, such as DLP or Firewall, may block or reduce the performance of GEODI and GDE communication.
> ℹ️ You should **define additional rules** in these tools to ensure stable connectivity and optimal performance.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ 5️⃣ For installing, updating, or uninstalling the **GDE agent**, it is recommended to use **manual deployment** or **a centralized management tool such as SCCM**.
> ℹ️

> ℹ️
> ℹ️ OWA Classifier is a **webmail classification add-in**.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ It supports:
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ - **Microsoft Exchange Server** (version 2013 and above)
> ℹ️ - **Microsoft Office 365**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ [https://decesw.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/geodien/pages/3987636225](https://decesw.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/geodien/pages/3987636225) | > ℹ️ ## Classification agent - GEODI Classifier
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ 1️⃣ The **Office Classifier agent** operates within **Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook**, and is compatible with **MS Office 2007 and later versions**.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ 2️⃣ The **Desktop Classifier agent** runs inside **Windows Explorer**.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ 3️⃣ For **automatic classification**, the agents require **access to the GEODI Server**.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ 4️⃣ If you already use another classification tool, having one **Word document per class** is sufficient for migration to **GEODI Classifier**.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ 5️⃣ Network tools, such as DLP or Firewall, may block or reduce the performance of GEODI and GDE access.
> ℹ️ You should **define additional rules** in these tools to allow communication.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ 6️⃣ Some DLP tools may already perform discovery operations on files.
> ℹ️ With GEODI, such rules are no longer necessary — **redefining or disabling them** will improve **performance and resource utilization**.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ 7️⃣ The **GEODI Classifier family** includes both **Desktop** and **Microsoft Office agents**, combined in a single package.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ 8️⃣ You can deploy the agents **manually** or using **deployment tools such as SCCM**.

# GEODI Q / AI Infrastructure

| | |
| --- | --- |
| > ℹ️ ## LLM Provider
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ GEODI Q supports both **local** and **cloud-based** LLM providers. Depending on your preference or needs, you can use any of them **simultaneously**.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ **Supported Providers**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ - **OpenAI / ChatGPT**
> ℹ️ - **Google / Gemini**
> ℹ️ - **Azure AI Foundry / All Models**
> ℹ️ - **Open Source / Ollama – DeepSeek, LLaMA, etc.**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ All of these are supported. For cloud-based providers, you will need to obtain an **API key**. | > ℹ️ ## On-Prem AI
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ After installing **GEODI Q**, you can set up **Ollama** and any **LLM provider of your choice** on your local machines.
> ℹ️ No internet access is required for this configuration.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ The performance of local LLM providers depends on the **hardware specifications** of the server machines, such as **memory** and **GPU** capacity.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ It is also possible to **scale and enhance performance** using methods like **NLB (Network Load Balancing)** or similar infrastructure approaches. |
